  1. Thank you for the video very informative, would you know of a free
download video editor program that you would recommend, thank you.

  2. Very nice Mike. Is there any reason you are not using software like
premiere or after effects for your post processing? Would be good to see
some of your videos that aren’t just tutorials (landscapes or something).
I’m going to see if I can use your advice on the 700d and my 60mm macro.
    Thanks a lot!

  3. Great video! More filmaking tutorials please!

  4. Thanks for the insights! I have been doing still since the late 70s but
never video as the results have been really bad. Now I’m inspired and will
include some videos on my channel – provided I get it right! Thanks a lot!

  5. Hello Mike,
What settings yould you use for a video in a bright day on the caribbean ?
    I am using a Nikon.

  6. Great video tutorial and thanks for sharing. The 2nd video was infinitely
better than the first. I now shoot all my videos this way and though time
consuming the results are well worth it. I have a tripod already which has
a standard camera head and will be shortly investing in a fluid head from
    Benro or Manfrotto.

    1) If you were filming fast action such as motor sport would you still
stick with the 1/50th shutter speed?

  7. hello mike

educative. you know your work, trade and do it well. many thanks for your
    superb effort.

  8. Hey there, I am really keen to get into filming and would like to know what
camera you filmed this with. (Not the Nikon shown) thank you

  9. Great vid Mike and I agree with most of it. However since I’ve been using
in body stabilisation on the newer CSC’s and camcorders, I’m finding a lot
more steady shots can be done without a tripod. If you’d like to see an
example I shot a visit to Green Island, Australia with a Sony RX10
    completely without a tripod. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99cdD15zIZI
It would be nice if the next gen of DSLRs are able to replicate what I can
    currently achieve with the CSC’s.

  10. Thank you for your tips! They were very helpful!
    I have a question:
    1) I would like to make a bike video and switch angles from camera on the
tripod and on the bike. How should I do this?
    Thanks!

  11. Things to consider for beginners, music mix with voiceover track. In this
video, the music was way too loud

    Hi Mike,
If you get the chance please give us some tips about filming ice skating
competitions. I have been trying to film my daughter’s ice skating
    performances with not much success.

  14. Very informative and easy to understand. Perhaps part 2 could show how you
edited the video in post production?

  15. "softy" windshield + stroking gesture = my immature mind at its best
